Blender has already improved greatly in the last few months. Both with the new release and the countless additions that we can use with it.
I thought that it may be wise to bring a few things to your attention. You may have seen some of this news as it may have been posted on Blendernation.
Everryone needs a tutorial for something. Beginners to the program should go to the blender newb to pro wiki. This will show them the rudimentary basics and allow them to explore more of the program. The wiki can be found here; [link]
You can also search for tutorials here; "[link]
On blender.org there are also some tutorials but these tuts seem to be quite old and so have not been made for the newest release. But you can find them here; [link]
Some tutorials have been rewritten by Vitality and can be found on BlenderHeads [link]
These tutorials are often very useful.
For modelling the human body you could use the makehuman python script or standalone program or you could follow these tutorials; [link]
Blender for architecture; [link]
And of course the blenderart magazine filled with goodies and tutorials as well as interview from some of the most amazing artists currently using blender. [link]
And you must remember that blenderartists has its own forum section for tutorials [link]
In the blenderartists forum you must remember that some of the resident kind artists there like to explain how some of the works of art have been created.
Most notibly how to make a spring [link] (although now there is a scipt to make springs, this lets you annimate it as well)
And you should know that some kind people also release the blend file that they have used. Such as Parial's "A quiet afternoon in Takayama"
[link]
Red Yoshi's "Master Sword"
[link]
When Elephants Dream was released for viewing they also released all the files that were used to create it. You can find the files here; [link]
Many people also create wink tutorials such as this tutorial for making a violin; [link]
Thats enough for today, I will bring some information on some new resources such as the ivy generator and the geom tool/python script.
